Can Adding Daytime Running Lights Pass the Annual Vehicle Inspection?

Adding daytime running lights cannot pass the annual vehicle inspection. To pass the inspection, the installation of daytime running lights requires completing a modification registration. The "Technical Specifications for the Safety of Motor Vehicles in Operation" stipulates: The luminous intensity of the high beam of each headlamp of a motor vehicle must meet the requirements; when all headlamps (high beam) are turned on simultaneously, the luminous intensity of the high beam should comply with the provisions of GB4785. During testing, the power system should be in a charging state. Under no-load conditions, for motor vehicles and motorcycles, the low beam of the headlamp projected on a screen 10 meters away should meet the following vertical position requirements for the cutoff line or midpoint of the low beam: for vehicles where the height of the center (reference center) of the low beam's light-transmitting surface is ≤1000mm, the position should not be higher than a line 50mm below the horizontal plane of the center of the low beam's light-transmitting surface and not lower than a line 300mm below the same plane. For vehicles where the height of the center of the low beam's light-transmitting surface is >1000mm, the position should not be higher than a line 100mm below the horizontal plane of the center of the low beam's light-transmitting surface and not lower than a line 350mm below the same plane. Except for three-wheeled vehicles and motorcycles equipped with a single headlamp, the horizontal position of the cutoff line or midpoint of the low beam should not deviate leftward by more than 170mm or rightward by more than 350mm compared to the vertical plane of the center of the low beam's light-transmitting surface.
