Can a Vehicle with a Transplanted High-Displacement Engine Pass Inspection?

Transplanting a high-displacement engine will prevent a vehicle from passing inspection. According to Article 25 of the 'Measures for the Registration of Motor Vehicles of the People's Republic of China,' the following circumstances will result in the refusal of transfer registration: the motor vehicle owner arbitrarily modifies or replaces the motor vehicle or its files. Vehicles with unregistered engine replacements will definitely fail the annual inspection. Relevant regulations are as follows: Article 13 stipulates that motor vehicles registered for road use must undergo regular safety technical inspections based on legal and administrative regulations, considering factors such as vehicle purpose, passenger and cargo capacity, and service life. Article 11 states that driving a motor vehicle on the road requires displaying the vehicle license plate, inspection qualification mark, insurance mark, and carrying the vehicle registration certificate. Therefore, vehicles that do not undergo annual inspections are not permitted on the road; if discovered, they will be impounded and the owner fined.
