Can a touch-up pen be used to repair exposed primer?

Exposed primer cannot be repaired with a touch-up pen. Touch-up pens are mainly suitable for small scratches, scuffs, and protection of areas where the base color is exposed. If the scratch on the car body has exposed the primer, local touch-up painting is required. For such scratches, it is recommended to go to a paint repair center that offers quick scratch repair services. Before performing touch-up painting yourself, first clean the damaged area. You can use very fine sandpaper dipped in water to gently remove rust spots and wipe it completely clean, then apply a layer of primer to prevent the rust from spreading or worsening. For new scratches, you can wipe them clean and directly apply primer. After the applied primer has dried, use water sandpaper to smooth it out, and then use a touch-up pen for coloring.
