Can a Temporary License Plate Be Used Out of Province?

Temporary license plates can be used out of province, but they cannot be used out of province once they expire. A temporary license plate, also known as a temporary vehicle movement permit, is a paper license plate issued by the vehicle management department of the public security bureau for newly purchased vehicles before they are officially registered. The validity period of a temporary license plate generally does not exceed thirty days. When applying for a temporary license plate, you need to fill out a temporary vehicle movement registration form and submit the identity proofs of the vehicle owner and the agent, the vehicle's origin certificate, the whole vehicle factory certificate for domestically produced vehicles, the import certificate for imported vehicles, and the vehicle identification code.
