Can a motorcycle still undergo annual inspection after missing the deadline?

If the inspection is overdue by less than three years, the vehicle can still be inspected. If it exceeds three years, the motorcycle will be mandatorily scrapped and cannot be inspected. Documents required for motorcycle annual inspection: Original ID card and its copy, vehicle license, compulsory traffic insurance certificate or policy. For convenience, you can also bring the motor vehicle registration certificate, driver's license and its copy, etc., in case they are needed. Upon arrival at the inspection site, staff will guide you through the process. Motorcycle annual inspection schedule: For motorcycles used for less than 4 years, inspection is required every 2 years. For those used for more than 4 years, inspection is required annually. The annual inspection date is based on the initial registration date of the vehicle. For example, if the initial registration date on the vehicle license is June 2021, then the annual inspection should be conducted every June.
I once forgot that my motorcycle's annual inspection was overdue by two months, and I was so scared that I broke out in a cold sweat. But I immediately rode it to the inspection station for a late check. The technician there was very nice and said this situation was common. He helped me handle the overdue part first, paid a 200-yuan fine, and then conducted the normal checks on lights, brakes, tires, etc. It finally passed. A friend told me that if it's delayed too long, like over six months, you might face higher fines or even have to reapply for the license, and the insurance company might refuse to cover accident losses. I recommend setting a phone calendar reminder to avoid forgetting the annual inspection. After all, motorcycles have high safety risks, and regular checks on brakes and the drivetrain are crucial to prevent accidents or getting fined on the road.
