Yes, but whether the electronic driver's license can be used depends on the traffic management regulations of the city where you are located. Currently, traffic police in most cities in China do not recognize electronic driver's licenses. Electronic Driver's License: The electronic driver's license, commonly known as the 'e-license,' was piloted in three cities—Tianjin, Chengdu, and Suzhou—starting from June 1, 2021, for the electronic issuance of motor vehicle driver's licenses. It provides drivers with online 'license display' and 'code display' services, better facilitating public travel and affairs. It will be fully promoted nationwide in 2022. Pilot Cities for Electronic Driver's License: Based on the pilot program, the Ministry of Public Security decided that starting from September 1, 2021, 28 cities—Beijing, Tianjin, Shijiazhuang, Changchun, Daqing, Shanghai, Wuxi, Suzhou, Yancheng, Taizhou, Ningbo, Jiaxing, Nanchang, Jinan, Qingdao, Changsha, Guangzhou, Shenzhen, Nanning, Chongqing, Chengdu, Mianyang, Zigong, Nanchong, Guiyang, Kunming, Xi'an, and Yinchuan—will be the first batch to promote and apply electronic driver's licenses nationwide. It should be noted that electronic driver's licenses issued in these cities are valid nationwide.
