Can a Faulty Fuel Injector Cause Engine Seizure?
1 Answers
A faulty fuel injector may lead to engine seizure. Hazards of a damaged fuel injector: A malfunctioning fuel injector causes unresponsive operation, leading to severe carbon buildup in the engine cylinders. This accelerates wear on cylinder liners and pistons, resulting in rough idling, increased fuel consumption, poor acceleration, difficult starting, excessive vehicle emissions, and in severe cases, even engine damage. Engine seizure: Engine seizure occurs when the tachometer enters the red zone. Due to excessively high temperatures, the piston expands and gets stuck in the cylinder, causing complete engine failure. In extreme cases, when pressure becomes too high while the piston remains immobile, it may result in wheel lock-up and even flame ejection.
