Can a car start if the valves are stuck?

If the car's valves are stuck, it cannot start. It is necessary to determine whether it is the intake valve tappet or the exhaust valve tappet that is stuck. If the intake valve is faulty, continued engine operation will cause the pushrod to bend or detach, rendering the intake valve non-functional. This cylinder will create a momentary vacuum state during the intake stroke, thereby affecting engine power and even causing cylinder scoring. If it is an exhaust valve failure, severe power bouncing may occur, and even burning gases may backfire through the intake pipe. How to handle stuck car valves: You must immediately stop attempting to start the engine and avoid towing the vehicle in gear. Arrange for vehicle rescue measures, and once at the repair shop, promptly remove the engine for disassembly and repair. A piston hitting the valves is a severe mechanical engine failure. In minor cases, it may result in the scrapping of the affected cylinder's valves, piston, piston pin, piston rings, connecting rod, and bearings. In severe cases, it can lead to the complete scrapping of the entire engine. Such incidents are usually caused by the detachment of valve retainers, resulting in excessive valve travel, or loosening of the connecting rod small-end fixing bolts, causing excessive upward movement of the piston. In rare cases, it may also be due to the detachment of the valve head.
