Can a car run with the water temperature at 100 degrees?

No. The normal operating temperature is around 90 degrees. If the water temperature is abnormal, you should pull over and stop in time. Continuing to drive when the water temperature reaches 100 degrees can cause phenomena such as boiling over and cylinder scoring, severely damaging the engine and leading to high repair costs later. Common causes of abnormal water temperature include the following: 1. Fluid leakage, meaning there is a leak. 2. Insufficient coolant, which hasn't been topped up for a long time. 3. Faulty cooling system fan, preventing the engine from dissipating heat. Faulty circulation water pump. Damaged water temperature sensor or water temperature gauge.
