Can a 60-volt charger charge a 48-volt battery?

A 60-volt charger cannot charge a 48-volt battery because the 60-volt charger is set to turn off the charging indicator light at around 68 volts, while a 48-volt battery is designed to turn off the indicator light at approximately 55 volts. Therefore, using a 60-volt charger on a 48-volt battery will never trigger the indicator light to turn off. Prolonged charging can cause the 48-volt battery to lose water, swell, or even explode. If the charging voltage is too high, it may result in excessive charging current during the initial phase, damaging the battery. Generally, the terminal voltage of the battery being charged should match the charger's voltage, meaning the charger voltage must be the same as the battery voltage.
