Camry Idle Shaking Without Fault Codes

Camry Idle Shaking Without Fault Codes may be caused by the following reasons: 1. Intake system failure: including clogged air filter reducing air intake, or intake system leakage causing over-lean mixture. Fuel system failure may be due to low fuel pressure, clogged fuel injectors, etc., which would lead to over-lean mixture and idle shaking. 2. Idle control system failure: mainly caused by malfunctioning idle control valve, preventing normal operation and resulting in this issue. 3. Ignition system failure: caused by poor high-voltage ignition, affecting mixture combustion. Additionally, there are multiple reasons for electronic control system failures, mainly including malfunctioning components such as engine speed sensor, camshaft position sensor, intake air temperature sensor, etc.
I know this issue all too well, eight out of ten Camrys in my workshop shaking are due to worn engine mounts. With no fault codes, always check the physical damping components first. Toyota's rubber mounts become as brittle as frozen rice cakes over time, and cracks are glaringly obvious under flashlight. Also, feel the exhaust tailpipe – if it vibrates like it's on a shake mode, throttle body carbon buildup might be as sticky as congee residue. Last month, I encountered a 2017 2.5G model with rock-steady engine RPMs but a steering wheel shaking enough to double as a massager. Turns out, after disassembling the intake manifold, two fuel injectors were spraying unevenly like a weak urine stream. These hidden issues are more frustrating than fault codes – I’d recommend replacing all front and rear engine mounts ASAP and cleaning the fuel system while you're at it.
