BMW 1 Series has three types of wheels: 18-inch 118i rims, 17-inch 118i rims, and 16-inch 118i rims. The sizes vary depending on the model. Generally, in sedans, larger wheel sizes with higher tire aspect ratios can create a visually appealing tension effect and improve vehicle handling stability, but this comes with the additional issue of increased fuel consumption. Wheel width, commonly referred to as J value, directly affects tire selection. For the same tire size, different J values require different tire aspect ratios and widths. The professional term for bolt hole size is Pitch Circle Diameter (PCD), which refers to the diameter between the fixing bolts in the center of the wheel. Offset is the distance between the mounting surface and the centerline of the wheel, and this parameter can usually be found on the back of the wheel.
