Automobile chassis structure consists of four parts: transmission system, running system, steering system and braking system. It supports and installs the automobile engine and its various components and assemblies, forms the overall shape of the automobile, receives the power from the engine, enables the automobile to move and ensures normal driving. Structure of the transmission system: The transmission system is generally composed of clutch, gearbox, universal transmission device, main reducer, differential and half shaft. It has functions such as deceleration, speed change, reverse, power interruption, inter-wheel differential and inter-axle differential. Working in coordination with the engine, it can ensure the normal driving of the automobile under various working conditions, and has good power performance and economy. Structure of the running system: The running system is composed of the automobile frame, axle, wheel and suspension. Structure of the steering system: The steering system is composed of steering wheel, steering shaft and steering column. Structure of the braking system: The braking system is generally composed of two main parts: the brake operating mechanism and the brake.
The car chassis structure is something I pay attention to every day while driving. It feels like the skeleton of the car, supporting the entire body and component assembly. Maintenance is simple—regularly check the chassis for cleanliness to avoid dirt buildup and ensure there’s no impact deformation. Proper maintenance ensures safer and more comfortable handling with lower fuel consumption. SUVs have higher chassis suitable for off-roading but are less stable in terms of center of gravity, while sedans with lower chassis are better suited for urban road conditions.
