At what oil level will the Audi A6 trigger an alarm?

Audi A6 will trigger an alarm when the engine oil level is below the lower mark on the dipstick. Oil Dipstick: A commonly used measuring tool to check the lubricating oil level in the oil reservoir. Since the dipstick insertion path has bends, the dipstick must be able to deform when inserted and rebound to its original shape when pulled out. Standard oil dipsticks have clearly marked upper and lower limits to ensure the detected oil level falls between them. The ideal position is in the middle. However, more oil is not always better. The higher the oil level, the greater the engine resistance. Keeping the oil level slightly below the middle position minimizes engine resistance and fuel consumption while maintaining stable lubrication performance. How to Use the Oil Dipstick: Locate the oil dipstick, which is positioned next to the engine, and pull it out. Check the oil level when the vehicle is cool; checking immediately after driving or while the engine is running is ineffective. Wipe off the oil residue: first clean the dipstick with a clean tissue after the initial pull-out, then reinsert it. Upon the second pull-out, observe the oil level on the dipstick. If the oil level is between the upper and lower marks, the oil level is normal. Both the upper and lower limits are clearly marked with scales.
My Audi A6's oil light has come on twice, both times due to low oil level. The car's electronic oil dipstick is quite precise—it typically triggers a warning when the oil level drops below the lower mark on the dipstick. Specifically, when it's about 3-5 mm below the minimum mark, the yellow oil can light on the dashboard starts flashing. Once, during a long trip, I forgot to check, and as soon as the oil level dipped just below the minimum line, the warning light immediately popped up to alert me. At this point, the engine won't be damaged immediately, but you need to address it right away; otherwise, continuing to drive could cause engine wear. I usually check the oil level half an hour after parking, as it's most accurate when the engine is cold. Keeping it around the two-thirds mark between the upper and lower limits generally prevents the warning light from coming on.
