Are There Dash Cams That Don't Require Plugging In?

There are dash cams that don't require plugging in and only need battery installation, essentially being the same thing. Hazards of Battery-Powered Dash Cams: It is not recommended to use dash cams with batteries. Because when exposed to direct sunlight, the temperature inside the car can exceed 80 degrees Celsius. At such temperatures, the battery may leak or explode. The lithium used in lithium batteries, along with organic electrolytes, poses safety risks. Overcharging, over-discharging, short circuits, high temperatures, and severe external impacts may cause the battery to catch fire or even explode. Some new energy cars and buses have also experienced battery combustion incidents, and there have been numerous news reports about mobile phone batteries and dash cams exploding. These incidents could be due to substandard production technology or irregular manufacturing processes. Modification Method: You can disassemble the dash cam, remove the internal battery from the circuit board, then solder the power cables' positive and negative wires and connect them to the ignition switch. This requires some technical skill. It is more advisable to simply replace the dash cam with a product from a reputable brand for better reliability.
