The three major components of the Geely Xingyue indeed have deep connections with Volvo. The CMA platform was jointly developed by Geely and Volvo, and its chassis architecture directly inherits Volvo's safety genes, delivering a noticeably solid Nordic-style driving feel. In terms of the engine, the high-power 2.0T version of the Xingyue L directly adopts Volvo's Drive-E T5 engine, with parameter tuning highly similar to the XC60. Although the transmission is sourced from Aisin's 8AT, its matching logic draws from Volvo's tuning approach. However, the lower-end 1.5T version still uses a Geely-developed engine, meaning the three major components aren't entirely of Volvo lineage. Overall, the Xingyue's mechanical quality offers a standout performance in its price range.

As someone who has driven this car, I believe it depends on the specific configuration. Only by purchasing the top trim or the 2.0T model of the Xingyue L can you experience the full suite of Volvo technologies, such as the explosive power of the T5 engine and the precise steering brought by the CMA chassis, which are particularly noticeable when driving on highways. However, the entry-level 1.5T version's engine belongs to Geely's new generation product line. Although it also has Volvo's technical support, there are differences in the core components of the three major parts. Both use Aisin transmissions, and Volvo is actually also a purchaser. Overall, Geely has cleverly incorporated Volvo technology into its high-end models, making the three major parts a kind of hybrid.

The technological integration is quite evident after Geely's acquisition of Volvo. The Xingyue series uses the CMA platform for its chassis, which shares the same origin as the Volvo XC40, offering excellent chassis rigidity. The top-tier 2.0T model is directly equipped with Volvo's T5 engine, delivering a robust 254 horsepower. The transmission is an Aisin 8AT, the same as some Volvo models. The 1.5T version, however, features an engine developed in-house by Geely, so not all three major components can be attributed to Volvo. Overall, the Xingyue's chassis and engine carry Volvo's DNA, while the transmission is a common solution, marking a significant technological upgrade compared to older Geely models.

What is the fuel tank capacity of the XT5?

The fuel tank capacity of the front-wheel-drive version of the XT5 is 73 liters, while the four-wheel-drive version has a fuel tank capacity of 82 liters. The Cadillac XT5 is a mid-size SUV under the Cadillac brand, with a wheelbase of 2857mm, and dimensions of 4813mm in length, 1903mm in width, and 1682mm in height. The Cadillac XT5 is equipped with a 2.0-liter turbocharged engine across all models, codenamed LSY. This engine delivers a maximum power of 174kW and a maximum torque of 350Nm, with the maximum power achieved at 5000 rpm and the maximum torque available between 1500 to 4000 rpm. Among vehicles in the same class, the Infiniti QX50 2022 2.0T Front-Wheel Drive Elite Edition has a fuel tank capacity of 60L, while the Range Rover Evoque 2021 Evoque L 200PS R-Dynamic Standard Elite Edition has a fuel tank capacity of 67L. During actual refueling, the amount of fuel may exceed the nominal capacity. This is because the fuel tank capacity specified by the manufacturer is measured from the bottom of the tank to the safe fill level, and there is additional space from the safe fill level to the tank opening. This space is designed to accommodate fuel expansion due to temperature increases, preventing overflow. If fuel is filled up to the tank opening during refueling, the actual amount of fuel added may exceed the nominal tank capacity. To check the remaining fuel level, drivers can observe the fuel gauge on the right side of the instrument panel, marked with E and F. When the needle is close to E, it indicates low fuel, while proximity to F means the tank is nearly full.

How Long Does It Take for a Private Car to Be Scrapped?

For 5-seat family cars and 7-seat SUVs, as well as non-commercial small and mini vehicles, there is no usage period limit. When the normal mileage reaches 600,000 kilometers, the state will guide the vehicle to be scrapped. In addition to the above vehicles, small and mini non-commercial passenger vehicles, large non-commercial cars, and wheeled special machinery vehicles also have no usage period limit. Commercial vehicles have a scrapping period, as follows: Small and mini taxi passenger vehicles have a scrapping period of 8 years, medium-sized taxi passenger vehicles have a scrapping period of 10 years, and large taxi passenger vehicles have a scrapping period of 12 years. Bus passenger vehicles have a scrapping period of 13 years, other small and mini commercial passenger vehicles have a scrapping period of 10 years, and large and medium-sized commercial passenger vehicles have a scrapping period of 15 years. Mini commercial trucks have a scrapping period of 8 years, light and large commercial trucks have a scrapping period of 10 years. The vehicle scrapping process is as follows: The car owner applying for scrapping and renewal should fill out the "Motor Vehicle Change, Transfer, Modification, Suspension, and Scrapping Approval Application Form" in duplicate and stamp the owner's seal. The registration office will accept the application and issue a "Vehicle Scrapping Notice" for vehicles that have reached the scrapping period. For vehicles that have not reached the scrapping period, the motor vehicle inspection office will determine whether they meet the scrapping standards and issue a "Vehicle Scrapping Notice" if they do. The owner should choose a qualified recycling company to dismantle the vehicle with the "Notice." The recycling company will dismantle the vehicle and take photos after verifying the "Notice." The engine must be separated from the vehicle, the engine block must be broken, and the frame (chassis) must be cut. The owner should submit the "Change Form," "XX Province Vehicle Renewal Technical Appraisal Form," "Scrapped Vehicle Recycling Certificate," and vehicle dismantling photos to the motor vehicle inspection office for verification and signature. The license plates and certificates will be recovered, and the scrapping registration will be processed according to regulations. Special Notes: According to Article 30 of the "Motor Vehicle Registration Regulations," if the vehicle cannot be driven back to the registration location due to damage, the owner can sell the scrapped vehicle to a local motor vehicle recycling company. If a commercial vehicle is converted to a non-commercial vehicle, it must still be scrapped according to the original commercial vehicle's scrapping period. According to Article 43 of the "Motor Vehicle Registration Regulations," after completing the transfer or cancellation of a motor vehicle's registration, the original owner can apply to the vehicle management office to use the original license plate number when registering a newly purchased motor vehicle. The application must meet the following conditions: (1) The application must be submitted within six months after the transfer or cancellation; (2) The owner must have owned the original vehicle for more than three years.

Where is the tire pressure reset button on the Honda Odyssey?

The tire pressure reset button for the Honda Odyssey is located in the central control settings. First, select the vehicle settings, press the select/reset button, and then choose the tire pressure reset monitoring calibration. Tire pressure monitoring automatically checks the tire pressure in real-time while driving and alerts the driver to leaks or low pressure to ensure driving safety. There are three commonly used tire pressure monitoring methods: Direct tire pressure monitoring: Direct tire pressure monitoring devices use pressure sensors installed in each tire to directly measure tire pressure. The pressure information is transmitted wirelessly from inside the tire to a central receiver module, which then displays the data for each tire. The system automatically alerts the driver if the tire pressure is too low or if there is a leak. Indirect tire pressure monitoring: When the pressure in a tire decreases, the vehicle's weight causes the rolling radius of that tire to become smaller, making it rotate faster than the other wheels. By comparing the differences in rotation speeds between tires, the system monitors tire pressure. Indirect tire pressure monitoring systems essentially rely on calculating the rolling radius of the tires to monitor pressure. Introduction to Tire Pressure Monitoring Systems (TPMS): TPMS combines the advantages of both systems mentioned above. Direct sensors are installed in two diagonally opposite tires, and an indirect system is used for all four wheels. Compared to a fully direct system, this hybrid system reduces costs and overcomes the limitation of indirect systems, which cannot detect when multiple tires have low pressure simultaneously. However, it still cannot provide real-time pressure data for all four tires as a direct system does.
