Are the Engines of BMW 525 and 530 the Same?

BMW 525 and 530 do not have the same engine. Both the 525 and 530 are generally equipped with BMW's B48 series 2.0-liter inline 4-cylinder turbocharged engine. However, the engine in the BMW 525 is coded as B48B20C, while the engine in the BMW 530 is coded as B48B20D, with only a one-letter difference in the code. Maximum Horsepower: The maximum horsepower of the 525 engine is 184 hp, with a maximum torque of 290 Nm. The maximum horsepower of the 530 engine is 252 hp, with a maximum torque of 350 Nm. Power: The two engines are differentiated as high-power and low-power versions. The high-power engine has greater turbo pressure, which results in higher cylinder pressure. Excessive cylinder pressure can easily cause knocking, so the compression ratio of the high-power engine needs to be smaller than that of the low-power engine. A smaller compression ratio means different piston shapes.
