Beijing imposes traffic restrictions on vehicles with temporary license plates. The restrictions are in effect from 7:00 AM to 8:00 PM, Monday through Friday. Vehicles with temporary plates are prohibited from driving within the roads inside the Fifth Ring Road. The restrictions are based on the last digit of the license plate number as follows: 4 and 9, 5 and 0, 1 and 6, 2 and 7, 3 and 8 on respective weekdays. If the last character is a letter, it is treated as 0. There are no restrictions on weekends and public holidays. The traffic restriction rules for temporary license plates in Beijing are as follows: 1. Weekdays: From 7:00 AM to 8:00 PM on weekdays (excluding public holidays), vehicles with temporary plates are prohibited from driving within the roads inside the Fifth Ring Road (excluding the Fifth Ring Road itself). 2. License Plates: For license plates ending with an English letter, the restriction is applied as if the last digit were 0. 3.
