Are Oil Filters Universal?

Oil filters are not universal, but oil filter elements are generally interchangeable within the same vehicle series. The oil filter element, also known as the oil filter, functions to remove impurities, gums, and moisture from the oil, delivering clean oil to various lubrication points. Due to the high viscosity of oil and the significant presence of impurities, oil filters typically consist of three stages to enhance filtration efficiency: the oil strainer, the oil coarse filter, and the oil fine filter. The oil strainer is installed in the oil pan before the oil pump and usually employs a metal mesh design. The oil coarse filter is positioned after the oil pump and is connected in series with the main oil passage. It mainly includes metal scraper types, sawdust filter element types, and microporous filter paper types.
