Are New Energy Vehicles Exempt from Purchase Tax?

New energy vehicles purchased are exempt from vehicle purchase tax. The new energy vehicles eligible for purchase tax exemption include pure electric vehicles, plug-in (including range-extended) hybrid vehicles, and fuel cell vehicles that are licensed for sale in China. Precautions for using new energy vehicles: 1. Avoid high-current discharge: During the use of new energy vehicle batteries, high-current discharge should be avoided as it can easily lead to the formation of lead sulfate crystals, thereby damaging the physical performance of the battery plates. 2. Avoid overheating of the charging plug: When charging a new energy vehicle, the charger should be inspected, especially to avoid overheating of the charging plug. Loose output plugs or oxidized contact surfaces can cause the plug to overheat. Prolonged overheating can damage the charger and battery, and compromise safety. 3. Strictly avoid storing the vehicle with a depleted battery: During storage, the battery level of a new energy vehicle should be monitored. It is strictly prohibited to leave the vehicle battery in a depleted state. Storing the battery in a depleted state can easily lead to sulfation, where lead sulfate crystals adhere to the plates, blocking ion channels and shortening the battery's lifespan.
