They may also contain engines, including fuel cell engines, carburetors, fuel tanks containing or previously containing fuel, compressed gas in tire inflation equipment, wet batteries, or lithium batteries. Definition of embargo: An embargo refers to a prohibition imposed by a country or alliance that prevents all its citizens from selling or purchasing goods to or from a designated party, even if the prices are advantageous. An embargo is not a military act of war. In terms of imports, it is similar to protectionism, except that its motive differs in that it aims to harm foreign sellers without benefiting domestic competitors.
