Are all new Highlander models hybrid?

All new Highlander models are hybrid. Exterior and interior introduction: The front face features a majestic trapezoidal grille, with the widest chrome strip in the middle seamlessly connected to the eyebrow-shaped headlights on both sides, creating a visual effect of widening the front face and lowering the visual center of gravity; The interior design incorporates dark red wood grain accents on the dashboard for a more premium look, and the steering wheel has been updated to a more mainstream three-spoke style; Powertrain configuration: Equipped with 2.5L and 3.5L engines, and additionally introducing a hybrid model which combines a 3.5L V6 engine with an electric motor delivering a maximum power of 104 kW. For transmission, conventional models will be paired with a 6-speed automatic transmission, while hybrid models will feature a CVT continuously variable transmission.
When I was looking at the new Highlander, I was also curious if it was fully hybrid. Actually, it's not. Toyota still kept the gasoline V6 engine version, like the 3.5L one, which offers stronger power and faster acceleration. However, the hybrid version has become the mainstream, especially the 2.5L model paired with an electric motor—it drives smoothly and saves fuel, with fuel consumption as low as 6-7 liters per 100 km. If you visit a dealership recently, you’ll find that salespeople often recommend the hybrid version because it aligns with the eco-friendly trend and offers a quieter driving experience. But I suggest test-driving both versions for comparison. The gasoline version is better suited for highway driving, while the hybrid is more ideal for city traffic congestion. The new Highlander has seen significant tech upgrades overall, like that smart connectivity system, which is quite handy. Ultimately, the choice depends on your daily needs—it’s not fully hybrid, but the hybrid version is really appealing, saving you money at the gas station. Oh, and remember to check the models available in your local market, as different regions may have different priorities.
