1.5T or 2.0L: Which Consumes More Fuel?
1 Answers
With current automotive technology, the power parameters of 1.5T and 2.0L engines are generally similar or even higher. For example, the Honda Crown's 1.5T engine delivers a maximum horsepower of 193Ps and a maximum power of 142KW, while the Nissan X-Trail's 2.0L engine offers a maximum horsepower of 150Ps and a maximum power of 110KW. The fuel consumption between these two engine types varies under the following two scenarios: 1. On regular roads, the fuel consumption of 1.5T and 2.0L engines is almost the same. However, considering the vehicle's weight, the 1.5T engine tends to consume more fuel during the initial acceleration phase, as turbocharging requires certain RPM support. 2. On highways, the 2.0L engine consumes more fuel, while the 1.5T engine, with its smaller displacement and the turbocharger engaged, provides noticeably improved power and consequently lower fuel consumption.
