Foster a safe, respectful, and supportive environment Direct Support Professional (DSP) Coryell Autism Center – Santa Cruz, CA $28.00/hour starting | Full-time or Part-time Job Overview The Direct Support Professional (DSP) plays a vital role in supporting adults with autism by delivering personalized care that enhances independence and overall quality of life. Key Responsibilities * Assist clients with daily living activities, including personal hygiene, meal preparation, and community integration * Implement Behavior Intervention Plans (BIP) and Individual Program Plans (IPP) to meet each client’s individual needs * Facilitate access to community resources and opportunities that promote social engagement and skill development * Serve as a positive role model, fostering a safe, respectful, and supportive environment * Collaborate with team members and families to ensure a high standard of care and consistency of support Skills * Strong communication skills and ability to connect with clients and families * Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for supporting individuals with diverse needs Required Qualifications * Minimum of 6 months experience supporting individuals with developmental disabilities * Valid California driver’s license with clean driving record and current auto insurance * TB clearance and successful completion of Live Scan background check * Current CPR certification (or willingness to obtain) Schedule * Multiple daytime shifts available * Overnights also available (billed through IHSS at $20.90/hr) -- Plain language expectation:
