Optimize data architecture and infrastructure for reliability and performance Maplebear Inc. D/B/A Instacart in San Francisco, CA seeks Engineering Manager (Multiple Openings). Responsibilities: Lead a team of full-stack engineers in the design and development of innovative features and scalable data infrastructures to support the Instacart platform. Duties include: analyzing existing technology to define technical and user requirements and establishing short- and long-term development goals; designing and executing engineering roadmaps that balance cost and efficiency and making tradeoffs based on business needs throughout the development lifecycle; building and maintaining scalable and efficient data pipelines; collaborating with cross-functional teams to understand data requirements and design solutions to meet business needs; optimizing data architecture and infrastructure to ensure reliability, scalability, and performance; implementing best practices relating to data governance, data quality, and data security; evaluating and recommending new tools and technologies to improve Instacart data infrastructure; participating in hiring, onboarding, and mentorship of new engineers as needed; and other duties as assigned. Employee may be stationed anywhere in the continental U.S., but will report to headquarters in San Francisco, CA. Education: Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or related field (or foreign equivalent). Requirements: 3 years of experience in the job offered or related. Other special requirements include: 3 years of experience working in SQL and performing complex data analysis with large volumes of data; 3 years of experience working with a variety of data storage technology like Redshift, Oracle, Teradata, or Hadoop ecosystem; 3 years of experience working with Perl, Python, shell scripts, or similar scripting languages; 3 years of experience with ETL development and data modeling; 3 years of experience with AWS services; and 3 years of experience working with real-time data pipeline construction like Kafka.
