Key Accountabilities · Supervise and coordinate regional construction, operations, and maintenance within established budget limitations. · Assures policies, procedures, programs, and performance are adhered to ensure the continuing and increasing operational efficiency, effectiveness, and profitability. · Train and develop personnel (quality, environment, reliability, health, safety, security, etc.) and assures proper operational integrity is maintained. · Obtains all required permits, licenses, rights of way, etc. required for proper compliance. · Implement and foster the coaching and development of employees, including idea generation, within respective functional areas. · Support the Business Development function in the operational analysis pricing and integration of water and wastewater business opportunities. · Supports manager to ensure effective people management policies and practices are implemented (e.g., time and attendance, workforce management, etc.) and ensures resources are developed and deployed appropriately. · Continue to reinforce the importance of developing a diverse workforce. Work collaboratively with other functional leads to mitigate business risks. · Implement effective communications at all levels of our operations. · Provide effective leadership that will enhance our abilities to be flexible to changing business environments. · Contribute to effective communication by listening and providing constructive feedback; supporting the creation of an open and honest work environment; cascading and sharing knowledge and information relevant to other members of the team and colleagues across the business. Knowledge/Skills · Knowledge of the regulated water/wastewater business within the region and the regulations impacting the business as well as applicable regulations, requirements, and trends within water/wastewater business. · Knowledge of company policies and procedures and management theories, practices, and trends. · Expert knowledge of process and operational areas. · Strong management skills (planning, organizing, analysis, problem solving, team working, employee development). · Strong influencing skills and proven ability to operate in a complex matrix organization. · Excellent leadership skills, presence, and the ability to deal effectively with and maintain productive relationships with employees at all levels (including represented employees), senior management and various external stakeholders. Experience/Education · Experience with union workforce and operating under CBA preferred. · Experience: Two (2) years of previous supervisory experience. The Sr. Project Manager will support projects for the Building Group; Multifamily, Commercial, etc. Success in the position is achieved through the following duties & responsibilities: Build and maintain relationship with General Contractors and/or Project Owners, Subcontractors and vendors that promote project success. Be the point person from the preconstruction phase to the project closeout phase. Properly delegate tasks and responsibilities to appropriate team members and ensure entire project team thoroughly understands project. Facilitate coordination between Field Operations and Preconstruction (preplanning, prefabrication) and actively engage in implementation of project plan. Review construction documents for inconsistencies and develop RFIs. Determine project labor tracking strategy and setup labor codes congruent with required labor tracking. Gather hours from Superintendent and Foreman and verify with project team. Monitor and own the overall procurement and construction schedule and escalate any possible impacts by coordinating with the customer, giving notice as required and maintain documentation for such impacts. Collect feedback from field team to present accurate information for CTCs. Create projection for CTCs and provide to Project Executive for review. Prepare accurate cost projections for each project monthly. Stay actively engaged with labor tracking and weekly look ahead schedules to mitigate any potential impacts to the project schedule or financial status. Oversee timely project requirements and documentation including but not limited to submittals, RFI’s, delay notices, potential claims, and extended overheads. Maximize cash flow by balancing project cost with timing of project income, facilitating buy outs according to the schedule and project plan with estimating and project teams, understanding labor and material trends, creating balanced and accurate budget and Schedule of Values, submitting billings, and negotiating change orders.
