Primary Purpose: The Associe Engineer supports experienced engineers in the planning, design, construction, and maintenance of Exelon's utility infrastructure, including electric or gas distribution, transmission, substions, and reled systems. This entry-level role involves assisting with engineering studies, technical calculions, specificions, permitting, work packages, and performance evaluions to ensure system safety, reliability, and compliance with internal standards and regulory requirements. Work can include: Evaluing electric, gas, and/or communicions system performance and analyzing outage da Identifying opportunities to improve safety, reliability, and performance Assisting in cost estimion, budgeting, and integred system planning Collaboring with engineering, operions, construction, and external partners Conducting field inspections May be required to work extended hours for coverage during storms or other energy delivery emergencies Note: This is a hybrid position (in-office with remote flexibility). Employees are required to be in office least three days per week (Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday). This position must sit out of our Oakbrook Terrace - IL office. Primary Duties: Assists experienced engineers in performing well-defined engineering assignments in specialized areas requiring engineering expertise, exercising independent discretion (e.g., collect da, perform complex analysis, interpret results, draw conclusions, and clearly present a recommendion to management) Provides support to engineering and opering groups to analyze specific design, installion, and maintenance activities. Assists in the performance of complex engineering assignments (e.g., analyze and interpret the results of complex power flows and perform complex electrical tests, and analyze non-specific and ambiguous results) Assists with technical consultion, plan developments, and recommendions for customer and company systems and processes (e.g., verify and valide studies, blueprints, or designs against accepted engineering principles and practices) Evalues effectiveness of current technical systems and processes. Participes on teams (e.g., design high voltage transmission and distribution circuits, meeting all engineering standards and criteria) Job Scope: Provides technical assistance in support of others. Applies technical knowledge to help promote a safe work environment and to enhance customer sisfaction. Reliability Analysis develops and maintains system models required to run studies on the transmission system to ensure adherence to reliability criteria. This includes but is not limited to running thermal and voltage steady ste powerflow studies and maintaining modeling da (connectivity, impedances, rings, contingency informion, etc.). Reliability Analysis analyzes the risk on the transmission system both in the short term and future year, which provides critical informion to anticipe unidentified and prioritize existing risks Minimum Qualificions: Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering Ability to analyze and interpret complex electrical and mechanical systems. Knowledge and ability to apply problem solving approaches and engineering theory. Knowledge of engineering designs, principles and practices. Zero to two years of professional engineering experience Limited knowledge and experience with regulions, guides, standards, codes, methods, and practices necessary to perform routine assignments for a specific discipline installions, or service.
