The Opportunity Join our team as an IT Business Relationship Manager (BRM) supporting Rapid & Molecular Diagnostics Manufacturing, where you’ll play a critical role in aligning IT strategy with business objectives. This position drives digital manufacturing innovation, ensuring reliable delivery of MES solutions and enabling smart factory initiatives across U.S. manufacturing sites. What You’ll Work On Serve as the primary IT partner for Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES), including POMS (Werum PAS-X or similar) Translate business strategies and manufacturing needs into scalable IT solutions and roadmaps Collaborate with operations, engineering, quality, and external vendors to deliver digital manufacturing and smart factory initiatives Optimize electronic batch records (EBR), shop floor systems, and process automation with plant stakeholders Lead MES strategy, including implementation, upgrades, lifecycle management, and integration efforts Manage IT portfolios, budgets, and capital expenditure projects ($1MM–$10MM), ensuring ROI and cost optimization Provide leadership for cross-functional teams, including resource planning, vendor management, and organizational effectiveness Partner with senior leadership (Site Directors, Sr. Directors) to align IT priorities with business goals Oversee risk management, issue resolution, and compliance with corporate and regulatory requirements Drive innovation, continuous improvement, and adoption of emerging technologies across manufacturing operations Required Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Business Administration, or a related field 8–10 years of IT experience within a multinational pharmaceutical, healthcare, or similar regulated environment Proven experience leading teams (direct and/or matrixed) and managing complex project portfolios Strong expertise in aligning IT strategy with business objectives and manufacturing operations Experience managing projects ranging from $1MM–$10MM, including budget and ROI oversight Solid understanding of the software development lifecycle, including privacy and cybersecurity considerations Experience working with and managing third-party vendors Excellent communication, stakeholder engagement, and influencing skills across all organizational levels Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously Preferred Qualifications Hands-on experience with MES platforms (e.g., Werum PAS-X, POMS), including EBR design, workflows, and recipe management Familiarity with MES-SAP integration and enterprise system connectivity Understanding of pharmaceutical or diagnostics manufacturing processes (e.g., batch production, serialization, traceability) Experience supporting GxP validation, audit readiness, and regulatory compliance Exposure to Industry 4.0 concepts, including digital manufacturing, IIoT, and smart factory initiatives Knowledge of supporting technologies such as SAP, scheduling tools, labeling systems, Agile methodologies, cloud platforms, and cybersecurity frameworks Learn more about our health and wellness benefits, which provide the security to help you and your family live full lives: www.abbottbenefits.com Follow your career aspirations to Abbott for diverse opportunities with a company that can help you build your future and live your best life.
