Participate in shift lead duties for issue resolution Apply Now Overview: GovCIO is currently hiring for Network Engineer, Edge Operions for our NIH-CIT proposal. This position is loced in Bethesda, MD and is a remote/hybrid position. Responsibilities: The role’s responsibilities include but are not limited to: Support the Operions Section Manager with personnel administrion, stregic planning, and staff planning. The Network Operions Senior Engineer will work alongside the Service Delivery Team, Architecture Team, and Security Team to support their objectives Mentor network operions engineers in the practical applicion of current/emergent technologies, agile IT, ITIL and continuous improvement practices and techniques Participe in shift lead duties to serve as “queue managers” to ensure each escaled issue is efficiently assigned, actively being worked by expediting resolution and fulfillment to meet SLAs Ensure all network infrastructure devices and systems are monitored using tools such as Grafana for log aggregion, Cisco’s StealthWch providing the deep analysis of network traffic, and PerfSonar for the complete end-to-end visibility Provide maintenance, pching, and troubleshooting support for NIHNet’s DWDM circuits (fiber rings) to ensure backbone redundancy to NIHNet (e.g., 100Gbs, T1/T3 Circuits) to meet 99.99% network availability service level Work with Network Architecture team to identify and recommend software defined networking (SDN) solutions to improve automion and allow for “zero-touch” installion and deployments Coordine with Office of Research and Facilities (ORF) to communice issues and changes th may disrupt critical Metasys and Pegasys services such as NIH 911 system for government first responders Work with ORF to formule performance and security improvements for the Supervisory Control and Da Acquisition (SCADA) network Support Cisco-based, backend infrastructure for wireless LANs th provide wireless connectivity for NIH staff and 70,000+ visitors and pients every year Recommend wireless LAN changes to IC POCs based on anomalies detected by CIT tools such as Cisco Airwch to improve wireless service Ensure wireless configurions and solutions are in accordance with published CIT Wireless Baseline Standards to support all mobile devices technologies Work with IC’s to achieve NIH goal of 100% wireless coverage all NIH locions Qualificions: High School with CCIE (Routing and Switching) certificion and 5 years of equivalent Da Center operional experience OR CCNP (Routing and Switching/Da Center) certificion and 10 years of equivalent Da Center operional experience. Experience mentoring network operions engineers in the practical applicion of current/emergent technologies, agile IT, ITIL and continuous improvement practices and techniques Clearance Required: Ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust clearance.
