REAL Watersports is seeking a motivated, detail-oriented In-House Videographer & Video Editor to join our fast-paced marketing team on the Outer Banks, North Carolina. In this role, your primary focus is on-site kite and foil video and editing. You will work directly alongside our senior creatives to handle the heavy lifting of post-production—organizing assets, creating short-form content for social, and polishing review-style long-form video content. While you will absolutely get out from behind the desk to shoot in the field, we are looking for a storyteller whose passion lies in the edit. The Ultimate Goal: At REAL, our media drives our marketing team. Your content will directly inspire people to get on the water and shred. Every edit you deliver, every reel you chop, and every product video you polish will be focused on a clear mission: to grow the REAL Lesson Center and sell the world's best kite, surf, and foil gear. Key Responsibilities 1. Video Editing & Post-Production (Primary Focus) Assembly & Rough Cuts: Take raw action and product footage to build tight, well-paced cuts for gear reviews, action sports edits, and school promotional videos. Conversion-Driven Edits: Craft video content with a clear call-to-action (CTA) designed to drive retail sales and book multi-day camps and lessons. Project Prep & Organization: Manage the backend of post-production—importing footage, syncing multi-cam shoots, organizing timelines, and labeling assets for seamless workflow. Polishing the Edit: Apply basic color grading, sound design, audio leveling, and text overlays to finalize videos for delivery. 2. Social Media & Content Strategy (Secondary Focus) Social-First Re-editing: Chop down long-form gear breakdowns and coach interviews into highly engaging short-form content optimized for Instagram Reels, TikTok, YouTube Shorts, and Stories. Hook & Trend Optimization: Edit with a "social-first" mindset, ensuring videos hit strong hooks in the first 3 seconds to capture customer attention and drive web traffic. Real-Time Coverage: Assist with capturing and quickly turning around raw, authentic, behind-the-scenes lifestyle and school/coaching content for daily social engagement. 3. Production Support & Photography Field Production: Assist on video shoots across a variety of environments: in-store, beach, ocean, Pamlico Sound, and on-water lifestyle settings. Product Photography: Support the retail and buying teams by photographing new gear arrivals, surfboards, and apparel for the REAL website and email marketing campaigns. Flexible Schedule: Work flexible hours when weather conditions are prime for shooting action (mornings, evenings, and weekends). Qualifications Kite & Foil Enthusiast: You genuinely love kiteboarding and foiling. You understand the culture, know the terminology, and can speak authentically about the gear and riding styles. Strong Video Editing Foundations: Proven experience editing video with a solid grasp of pacing, music selection, narrative flow, and basic color/audio correction. Software Competency: Intermediate to advanced skills in the Adobe Creative Suite, specifically Premiere Pro and Photoshop (After Effects or DaVinci Resolve knowledge is a plus). Commercial Mindset: An understanding of digital marketing and how video content translates into product sales and service bookings. Workflow Discipline: Highly organized mindset capable of managing complex project files, scratch disks, and media backups without breaking a sweat. Bonus Qualifications An editing reel or portfolio showcasing action sports, product breakdowns, or short-form social content. Drone operation experience.
