Produce clean, professional-quality finished work UPHOLSTERY TECHNICIAN Company: Kam’s Upholstery & Furniture Location: 3322 Swetzer Rd, Loomis, CA 95650 Employment Type: Full-Time Schedule: Monday–Friday Hours: 8:00 AM–5:00 PM Starting Wage: $22–$25 per hour, depending on experience and demonstrated skill Position Summary Kam’s Upholstery & Furniture is seeking an experienced Upholstery Technician who knows how to upholster furniture. This position does not require sewing experience. We are looking for someone who understands the hands-on upholstery process and can properly upholster furniture such as sofas, couches, chairs, restaurant booths, benches, commercial seating, and similar upholstered furniture. The ideal candidate should be comfortable working independently on upholstery tasks and be able to produce clean, professional-quality finished work. Responsibilities Upholster sofas and couches. Upholster chairs and armchairs. Upholster restaurant booths and banquettes. Upholster benches and commercial seating. Remove old fabric, vinyl, leather, staples, foam, batting, and other upholstery materials. Properly disassemble furniture when necessary. Prepare furniture frames for new upholstery. Install and replace foam, batting, padding, webbing, and related materials. Fit pre-sewn upholstery covers and materials onto furniture. Properly stretch, pull, align, and secure fabric, vinyl, leather, and other upholstery materials. Staple and attach upholstery materials correctly and neatly. Work around corners, curves, arms, backs, cushions, and other furniture shapes. Reassemble furniture after upholstery work is completed. Make sure finished furniture is tight, even, aligned, clean, and professionally finished. Identify and correct upholstery problems during the job. Safely use staple guns, hand tools, pneumatic tools, and other upholstery equipment. Maintain a clean and organized work area. Complete projects according to Kam’s Upholstery & Furniture quality standards. Qualifications Previous hands-on furniture upholstery experience is required. Must know how to upholster furniture such as couches, sofas, chairs, booths, benches, or similar items. Must understand how to properly stretch, fit, align, and secure upholstery materials. Must be able to produce clean and professional-quality work. Must understand basic furniture disassembly and reassembly related to upholstery. Experience working with fabric, vinyl, leather, foam, batting, and other upholstery materials is preferred. Must have good attention to detail and craftsmanship. Must be dependable and able to work as part of a team. Must be willing to learn Kam’s methods and quality standards. Sewing Is NOT Required Industrial sewing experience is not required for this position. The Upholstery Technician is responsible for the upholstery and installation side of the work. Another team member may handle sewing when needed. We are specifically looking for someone who already has hands-on knowledge of how to properly upholster furniture. Compensation Starting wage: $20–$22 per hour, depending on demonstrated upholstery experience, skill level, quality of work, and ability to complete upholstery tasks independently. Applicants with more advanced skills and the ability to complete entire upholstery projects from start to finish may qualify for higher-level positions and compensation.
