Opportunity for an experienced marine professional in yacht systems. 2. Work independently, assess problems, develop solutions. 3. Combine technical knowledge with craftsmanship and integrity. LEAD MARINE SYSTEMS TECHNICIAN Life Is Good Marine Services Location: Puget Sound / Greater Seattle Area Position: Full-Time | Experienced Marine Professional Compensation: Competitive, based on experience and qualifications ABOUT US Life Is Good Marine Services is a growing marine service company dedicated to helping boat owners spend more time enjoying their vessels and less time worrying about maintenance, repairs, and improvements. We provide comprehensive yacht maintenance, repairs, system upgrades, installations, and restoration services throughout the Puget Sound region. Our philosophy is simple: Exceptional workmanship, outstanding customer service, and treating every vessel as though it were our own. We’re looking for an experienced, highly capable Lead Marine Systems Technician who takes pride in their craft, enjoys solving problems, and understands the importance of professionalism when working aboard privately owned yachts. THE POSITION This is an opportunity for an experienced marine professional who has developed a broad understanding of the many systems found aboard recreational and luxury yachts. We’re not looking for someone who specializes in just one trade. We’re looking for someone who understands how the various systems aboard a vessel work together and has the knowledge, experience, and mechanical aptitude to diagnose problems, perform repairs, and complete installations. The ideal candidate is equally comfortable troubleshooting an electrical problem, replacing a freshwater pump, repairing a leaking hatch, installing marine equipment, or diagnosing an onboard plumbing or HVAC issue. You’ll be trusted to work independently, assess problems, develop solutions, and complete projects to a high professional standard. RESPONSIBILITIES Marine Electrical & Electronics * Troubleshoot and repair 12V, 24V, and 120V/240V marine electrical systems. * Install and service batteries, chargers, inverters, switches, wiring, and related components. * Diagnose electrical faults and system failures. * Install and integrate marine electronics and accessories. Plumbing, Pumps & Water Systems * Diagnose, repair, and replace freshwater and saltwater plumbing systems. * Install and service bilge pumps, freshwater pumps, washdown systems, and macerators. * Repair marine sanitation systems, holding tanks, hoses, valves, and fittings. * Troubleshoot leaks and water intrusion issues. Marine HVAC & Comfort Systems * Diagnose and service onboard heating, ventilation, and air-conditioning systems. * Replace pumps, hoses, fittings, and associated components. * Troubleshoot system performance and identify necessary repairs. Hull, Deck & General Yacht Repairs * Inspect, repair, and replace through-hull fittings, seacocks, and associated plumbing. * Repair and replace deck hatches, portlights, seals, and hardware. * Identify and correct water intrusion problems. * Install and replace marine hardware, accessories, and equipment. * Perform general fiberglass, sealant, and finish repairs. * Complete a wide variety of interior and exterior yacht maintenance and improvement projects. General Marine Systems Knowledge Candidates should have a solid understanding of marine propulsion systems, including engines, transmissions, propellers, shafts, and related components. Important: Our company does not perform internal engine repairs, engine rebuilds, or propulsion drivetrain mechanical work. However, understanding these systems and their relationship to other onboard equipment is an important part of being a knowledgeable marine technician. WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR We’re looking for someone who brings more than technical skills to the job. Experience & Qualifications * Significant hands-on experience maintaining and repairing recreational boats and yachts. * Broad working knowledge of marine electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and general vessel systems. * Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities. * Ability to work independently with minimal supervision. * Comfortable working aboard yachts of various sizes and configurations. * Ability to identify problems, recommend solutions, and execute repairs. * Experience with proper marine installation practices, materials, and equipment. * Familiarity with ABYC standards and marine safety practices is highly desirable. * Ability to document completed work and communicate project status clearly. Personal Qualities Just as important as technical ability is the person behind the tools. Our ideal candidate: * Has a genuinely positive attitude and enjoys what they do. * Takes pride in delivering exceptional workmanship. * Is dependable, organized, and self-motivated. * Maintains a clean and professional appearance. * Respects clients, their vessels, and their property. * Keeps work areas clean, organized, and protected. * Communicates professionally and respectfully. * Enjoys solving challenges and learning new skills. * Understands the importance of customer service. * Takes ownership of their work and follows through. We believe the best marine technicians combine technical knowledge with craftsmanship, integrity, and a genuine appreciation for boats and the people who own them. WHY JOIN LIFE IS GOOD MARINE SERVICES? We’re building a company that values its people just as much as its customers. Our goal is to develop a reputation as one of the most trusted and professional yacht service companies in the Puget Sound region. This position offers: * Competitive compensation based on experience. * Consistent, varied, and interesting marine service work. * The opportunity to work aboard a wide variety of yachts. * Independence and responsibility in managing service projects. * A professional, respectful, team-oriented working environment. * Opportunities for advancement as our company grows. * The satisfaction of helping boat owners enjoy their time on the water. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced marine technician looking for a long-term position with a growing company where their knowledge, initiative, and craftsmanship will be valued. HOW TO APPLY Please respond with: 1. Your name and contact information. 2. A brief description of your marine service experience. 3. The types of vessels and marine systems you’ve worked on. 4. Your strongest technical skills and areas of expertise. 5. Your compensation expectations. 6. Your availability to begin employment. A résumé is welcome but not required. We’re more interested in your experience, abilities, attitude, and work ethic than a perfectly written résumé. Life Is Good Marine Services
