A Grocery & Restaurant IT Manager's job description includes overseeing IT infrastructure for both grocery stores and restaurants, managing point-of-sale (POS) systems, ensuring network security, and supporting staff with technology issues. They are responsible for maintaining and upgrading hardware and software, IT projects, and often working with vendors to implement new technology solutions. This role requires a strong understanding of both retail and hospitality technology, including inventory management, payment processing, and operational software. Key responsibilities • Infrastructure management: Install, configure, and maintain hardware, software, and network infrastructure across multiple locations, including servers, computers, and networking equipment. • System administration: Manage and support POS systems, back-office software, and other critical applications used in grocery and restaurant operations. • Telephones &Payroll Clocks Repair and Maintenance: Manage phone systems, equipment for time clocks. Manage and support POS systems, back-office software, and other critical applications used in grocery and restaurant operations. • Technical support: Provide help desk support to staff, troubleshoot technical problems, and ensure all systems are running smoothly and efficiently. • Security and compliance: Implement and maintain IT security measures to protect sensitive data, including customer payment information and employee records. • Project management: Lead IT projects, such as system upgrades, new software rollouts, and technology implementations, from planning through completion. • Vendor management: Liaise with third-party vendors for hardware, software, and IT services, ensuring services meet business needs and are cost-effective. • Financial Reporting & Budgeting: Assist CFO with Financial reporting and data management, maintenance, & financial reporting, including planning for capital expenditures, maintenance costs, and operational expenses. Required skills and qualifications • Proven experience in IT management, with a strong understanding of networking, hardware, and software. • Advanced Excel and reporting knowledge required. • Experience with POS systems and other retail/hospitality technologies is often required. • Strong problem-solving, analytical, and troubleshooting skills. • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to train and support staff. • Ability to manage multiple priorities and projects simultaneously. • Understanding of data security principles and best practices. • Relevant certifications (e.g., CompTIA, Microsoft) can be beneficial.
