As of early April 2025, the European Investment Bank (EIB) is weighing a new loan facility to support the renewal and modernization of Zagreb’s tram network, according to publicly available project documents and industry sources. The potential loan would build on a multi-hundred-million-euro framework loan already approved for the city, which has been directed toward public transport, energy efficiency, and social infrastructure.
