Ferrari 355

Sometimes a 19-second video says more than a 10-minute review. Evoluto Automobili just posted a fresh clip of its modified Ferrari 355, and the exhaust note is absolutely fantastic. It's a brief glimpse, but enough to show that this restomod is far more than a visual exercise.

As of May 6, 2026, the company says the 355 program is almost ready for customer deliveries. Nearly two years ago, Evoluto first announced its plan to take the naturally aspirated 3.5-liter V8 from the Ferrari 355 and rework it without losing its personality. This latest video is proof that the approach has paid off.

A V8 That Refuses to Be Silenced

The heart of this car is still Ferrari's original 3.5-liter flat-plane crank V8. Evoluto didn't drop in a modern unit or bolt on turbos. Instead, the firm pulled the engine apart and redesigned more than 200 key components. Larger intake valves, solid cam lifters, revised timing, and bespoke engine tuning all work together to boost output.

Standard 355s made 375 horsepower when new. Evoluto's version takes that to 420 horsepower. That's not a huge jump by modern supercar standards, but the bigger story is how the engine feels and sounds. A flat-plane crank naturally produces a sharper, more intense exhaust note, and Evoluto has sharpened that further.

The short video captures the car revving through its range, and every note cuts through like a classic Ferrari should. It's aggressive but not messy, loud but never harsh. Some restomods make older engines sound artificial. This one just sounds like a 355 that's been given a second lease on life.

Manual Gearbox and Chassis Work

Evoluto didn't stop at the engine. The six-speed manual transmission was completely reworked to handle the extra power with a cleaner shift action. Buyers who love a hands-on driving experience will be happy to know there's no dual-clutch or automatic conversion here.

Stopping power comes from Brembo brakes with six pistons in the front and four pistons in the rear. That's a serious setup for a car that weighs well under modern sports cars. Meanwhile, the chassis has been reinforced, with a 23 percent increase in torsional rigidity. That should make the 355 feel tighter and more responsive without sacrificing the road comfort that makes restomods practical.

Sold Out and Still in Demand

Evoluto plans to build just 50 examples of the 355. If that sounds exclusive, it's because the car is already oversubscribed. Back in September 2024, the company announced that the entire production run had more interested buyers than cars, and it started pointing new customers toward a waiting list.

That kind of demand isn't a surprise. The price is £695,000, which is roughly $936,415 at today's exchange rates. For that money, buyers get a fully re-engineered vintage Ferrari with modern reliability and a sound that can't be replicated by any current production car.

Why This Restomod Matters

There's a temptation in the restomod world to chase huge horsepower numbers or add luxury tech that wasn't there before. Evoluto took a different line. The company focused on the essentials: engine character, chassis balance, braking feel, and the joy of a manual gearbox. The result is a car that respects the original Ferrari 355 instead of simply using it as a base for a new creation.

The latest video may only be 19 seconds long, but it confirms that Evoluto's 355 is nearing the finish line. With all 50 slots already spoken for, the lucky owners will soon find out whether the final production car sounds as good in person as it does on screen. Based on this clip, it's going to be hard for anyone to park one without turning around for another look.

For enthusiasts watching from the sidelines, this is one of the most exciting restomods of the decade. It's proof that a classic Ferrari can be improved in meaningful ways without losing the character that made it iconic in the first place.
