On April 15, 2025, Audi officially unveiled the Q9, the largest SUV in its history, marking the first time the automaker has used the number 9 for a production model. This full-size, seven-passenger flagship aims to redefine space and comfort in the luxury SUV segment, featuring curved third-generation digital OLED rear lights, automatic doors, individual electric second-row seats, and the largest panoramic sunroof ever fitted to an Audi. The Q9 TDI 220 kW will be available to order in Germany from the end of July 2026, with prices starting at €108,400.
A new dimension in Audi's lineup
Measuring 5.31 meters long, 2.21 meters wide, and 1.81 meters tall with a wheelbase of 3.14 meters, the Q9 overtakes the Q7 as Audi's largest SUV. It directly competes with the BMW X7 (5.15 m) and Mercedes GLS (5.21 m) while offering a longer body that translates into generous interior volume. The upright front fascia and bold Singleframe grille give it an unmistakable presence, while two equipment lines—advanced and sporty S line—let buyers choose between executive elegance and athletic flair. Alloy wheels up to 23 inches and roof rails emphasize the SUV's proportions.
Lighting technology that sets new standards
The Q9 introduces two world-first lighting innovations. The outer panels of its third-generation digital OLED rear lights are curved in three dimensions using ultra-thin glass, allowing the light to follow the vehicle's silhouette and improving visibility from wider angles. Additionally, advanced turn signals project a stylized turn-signal pattern onto the ground at night, working in sync with the dynamic front and rear indicators to enhance safety. The Digital Matrix LED headlights incorporate a micro-LED module for exceptional range, precision, and contrast.
