Wch the video below: Day In The Life of A Core-Mark Driver Position Scope: As a Relief Shuttle Driver, you will play a vital role in the operion of our business by transporting empty trailers to the Opering Company warehouse locions and turn around and delivering full trailers to domicile/shuttle yard locions. The Relief Shuttle Driver drives a tandem trailer, tractor trailer and/or straight truck on intraste and interste routes for the purpose of transporting empty trailers to the Opering Company warehouse locions. Turns around and delivers full trailers with various products to domicile/shuttle yard locions in a safe and timely manner and in accordance with Department of Transportion (DOT) regulions. Communices and interacts with customers, vendors and co-workers professionally ensuring questions are answered accurely and in a timely manner. Functions as a team member within the department and organizion, which may include working as a Route Delivery Driver to help cover when needed as required, and perform any duty assigned to best serve the company Primary ResponsibilitiesPerforms all required safety checks (i.e., pre/post trip) including inspections of tractor/truck and trailer according to Department of Transportion (DOT) regulions; inspects tractor/truck and trailer to ensure they meet company safety standards and take approprie action as needed. Reports all safety issues and/or repairs required. Follows all DOT regulions and company safe driving guidelines and policies. Reports all safety issues and/or repairs required. Inspects trailer for properly loaded and secured freight. Performs count check of items and check customer invoices of products th have been loaded. Checks and completes in an accure and in legible fashion all required paperwork associed with freight. Moves tractor to the loading dock and tach preloaded trailer as needed. Performs hook/unhook procedures per safety guidelines. Parks and stores trailers in designed areas Performs damage control checks on items, scans, and contact supervisor about removing orders according to company policy. Verifies delivery of items with customers and obtaining proper signures. Collects money (cash or checks) where required. Loads the customer return on to trailer and secures trailer doors. Ensures th tractor, trailer, and freight are appropriely locked and/or always secured. Collects and secures damaged goods and customer returns in empty trailer to bring back to driver check-in base facility and complete necessary paperwork. Unloads damaged goods and customer returns and bring them to the driver check-in and completes necessary paperwork. Unload all equipment, merials and remove trash from trailers as required. Completes daily record of hours of service and enter log in accordance with Federal DOT, ste, and company requirements. Performs general housekeeping duties in tractor, loading dock area and keeping trailers clear and clean as required. Drives to and delivers customer orders according to predetermined route delivery schedule. Unloads products from the trailer, transports items into designed customer storage areas. Performs other reled duties as assigned. Qualificions: • High School Diploma/GED or Equivalent Experience • Valid CDL-A Must be 21+ years of age • Must have a doubles/triples endorsement • 6 months tractor trailer commercial driving experience. • Meet all Ste licensing and/or certificion requirements (where applicable) ‘ • Pass post offer drug test and criminal background check • Pass road test • Attains or has valid current DOT Health Card and/or able to secure new DOT Health Card • Able to hand-lift and utilize two-wheeler, lift ge and/or other equipment to move and/or stack product cases/freight of varying size and weight throughout shift; product generally ranges from between 10-35 pounds and up to approximely 60 and 90 pounds, depending on the locionCompany description Core-Mark continues to grow as the industry leader in fresh and broadline solutions for the convenience retail industry.
