A popular weekly health news show is looking to fill a prime spot within our production “seal team” in Austin, TX. Someone with a positive attitude, who can wear many hats, and finds value in being a team player. We are a small team, and each role we play within the team is vital to the success of our mission. Communication skills are key, and being proactive is a must. Everyone on our team is a problem solver who supports each other in a very exciting live TV news show environment. *Austin locals only ****A candidate with a Medical Science background is ideal. Other skills can be taught. Key Responsibilities: • Compile and develop weekly scripts for our live show, ensuring content is accurate and production-ready • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret medical studies (needs to have some sort of foundation in medical science to translate complex information into clear, audience-friendly content) • Thrive in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment while meeting tight production deadlines • Collaborate closely with the graphics team to produce high-quality on-screen visuals • Ensure all visuals are fact-checked, properly cited, and aligned with the show’s messaging • Utilize and adapt to various technical tools and platforms (e.g., Pages, Keynote, MacOS) • Operate and “fire” all stills in real time during live or recorded broadcasts • Coordinate with producers, directors, and control room staff to adjust visuals on the fly Additional Duties: • Pre-interview guests, including navigating and handling sensitive or personal topics with professionalism and care • Identify, develop, and pitch compelling story ideas and potential guests to executive leadership • Collaborate with production and leadership teams to shape content direction and ensure alignment with show goals
