Troubleshoot and monitor AV issues at live events AV / EVENT PRODUCTION TECHNICIAN – $250–$500 PER EVENT Hype Sounds is hiring an experienced AV / Event Production Technician for weddings and private events throughout Los Angeles and Orange County. PAY: • Event Tech: $250 per event • Lead Tech: Up to $500 per event SCHEDULE: Fridays, Saturdays & Sundays IMPORTANT: Please only apply if you are consistently available ALL DAY every Friday, Saturday and Sunday. Events may start early and end late at night. RESPONSIBILITIES: • Set up and break down professional sound & lighting systems • Speakers, subs, mixers, wireless mics and DJ equipment • Trussing, moving heads and event lighting • Run power, audio and signal cabling • Soundcheck and troubleshoot AV issues • Monitor sound & lighting throughout events • Load and unload production equipment REQUIREMENTS: Previous AV / live-event production experience is REQUIRED. You should already be comfortable with professional sound systems, mixers, XLR/signal flow, wireless microphones, lighting and basic troubleshooting. Wedding, DJ production, live sound or event production company experience is strongly preferred. Must be reliable, professional, physically capable of handling production equipment, have reliable transportation and have a valid driver's license. Cerritos and surrounding LA/OC border cities are preferred. GROWTH OPPORTUNITY: Currently, technicians will meet our team directly at event venues throughout LA/OC and work alongside us. We are looking for someone who can learn the Hype Sounds production system and eventually advance into a Lead Production Technician role. Our long-term plan is to operate from an LA/OC warehouse. Lead Techs will eventually be able to pick up the company van, load equipment, drive to the venue, independently execute the complete sound & lighting production, manage production throughout the event, break down and return the van/equipment. Lead Techs capable of independently running complete events can earn up to $500 per event.
