Opportunity to develop additional production skills # Embroidery Technician – Tajima Experience Required **Big Frog Custom T-Shirts – San Diego, CA** Big Frog Custom T-Shirts is a growing custom apparel business specializing in high-quality embroidery, screen printing, DTF, and custom apparel. We are looking for an experienced **Embroidery Technician** to join our production team. ### The Position We are specifically seeking someone with **hands-on Tajima embroidery machine experience** who understands commercial embroidery production and can confidently take jobs from setup through completion. This is a hands-on production position for someone who takes pride in quality, pays close attention to detail, and understands the importance of producing consistent, professional-looking embroidery. ### Key Responsibilities * Operate and maintain **Tajima commercial embroidery machines** * Set up embroidery jobs, including hoops, garments, backing, thread, needles, and machine settings * Load and run embroidery designs accurately and efficiently * Make appropriate adjustments to thread tension, stitch settings, speed, and machine parameters * Troubleshoot thread breaks, needle issues, bobbin problems, registration issues, and other production challenges * Monitor embroidery throughout production to ensure consistent quality * Inspect finished garments for proper placement, stitching, thread tension, and overall appearance * Perform garment hooping and proper placement according to job specifications * Change thread colors and needles as required * Keep embroidery equipment and the production area clean and organized * Help maintain embroidery machines and identify potential maintenance issues * Work efficiently to meet production deadlines and daily order requirements * Follow job tickets and production specifications accurately * Work closely with the production and customer service teams when questions or issues arise * Assist with other production duties as needed ### Required Qualifications * **Previous professional experience operating Tajima embroidery machines – REQUIRED** * Commercial embroidery experience * Strong understanding of embroidery production and machine operation * Ability to read and follow embroidery production specifications * Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality * Ability to troubleshoot common embroidery production problems * Ability to work independently and manage multiple jobs * Reliable, punctual, and dependable * Ability to work in a fast-paced production environment * Ability to stand for extended periods and perform repetitive production tasks ### Preferred Qualifications * Experience with **Tajima multi-head embroidery machines** * Experience with Tajima embroidery software or digitizing software * Experience with commercial custom apparel production * Basic understanding of embroidery digitizing and stitch types * Experience working with a variety of garments, hats, jackets, polos, bags, and other apparel * Experience with specialty embroidery such as 3D/puff embroidery * Experience with appliqué and specialty materials ### What We're Looking For We're looking for someone who **knows embroidery—not someone we're starting from scratch with.** The ideal candidate understands how embroidery should look, knows how to properly set up a machine, can recognize problems while a job is running, and knows how to make adjustments to produce a clean, professional result.
