Summary: This is a physical commodity trading role specializing in grains, pulses, animal feed, dairy, sugar, and nuts, focusing on both origination and sales. Highlights: 1. Dual role spanning origination and sales in physical commodity trading 2. Engage with buyers and suppliers, negotiating trade contracts 3. Leverage existing book of business and develop fresh leads Company Description: Founded in 2018, we are an international trader specializing in grains, pulses, animal feed and nutrition, dairy, sugar, and nuts. Operating across 60 markets worldwide, we buy and sell physical commodities through contracts ranging from single shipments to large, multimillion-dollar trades. As a boutique trading house, we thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced industry that brings fresh challenges, and excitement, every day. Role Description: This is a physical commodity trading role — we trade physical goods (actual cargo that ships and gets delivered), not futures, derivatives, or currency/FX. It is a dual role spanning both origination and sales — you'll work both sides of the market: sourcing from suppliers and selling to buyers. You'll come in with an existing book of business and put it to work from day one. On the sales side, your day-to-day will center on building relationships with buyers, discussing market conditions, sharing updates, and understanding their import needs. As trust develops, buyers share their demand for the commodities they purchase and import. From there, you'll collaborate closely with the trading team on each demand. They'll equip you with pricing, specifications, and the details needed to move forward, and you'll lead the negotiation with the buyer, working through the back-and-forth on terms, pricing, and conditions. Your goal is to convert each demand into a confirmed sales contract. On the origination side, you'll engage and negotiate with suppliers across a range of profiles, including industrial players, processors, packers, growers, and grain elevators. Supplier negotiations follow much the same rhythm as buyer negotiations. Trade has two core sides: buying and selling, or supply and demand. Equally essential is logistics — a strong grasp of how grains move through the global market is critical to success in this role. Responsibilities: - Daily engagement with buyers and suppliers through phone calls, text messages, and emails. - Fulfilling demand by getting prices and terms in a timely manner. - Collaborating with the trade team on each demand or supply opportunity we receive. - Negotiating with both buyers and suppliers and driving them to confirm trade contracts. - Following up on offers sent and on demand received. - Updating CRM with buyer and supplier details. - Researching through import and export platforms to understand trade flows, patterns, commodities, and more. - Arranging onsite meetings with counterparties domestically and internationally. - Leveraging your existing book of business while continuing to develop fresh leads across your markets. - Coordinating with the trade execution team on confirmed contracts and proactively following up on any issues related to pricing, logistics, documentation, or overall contract fulfillment. Qualifications: - Minimum 4 years of sales experience; international sales or trade experience a plus - An enthusiastic, motivated, and confident self-starter with a persuasive mindset and a drive to succeed - Bachelor's degree - Strong computer skills, including fast email composition and proficiency with Google Drive, CRM systems, and similar tools - Excellent presentation and communication skills, both written and verbal - Confident communicating with buyers and sellers over the phone, as well as meeting them face-to-face - A fast-paced person who is efficient at calling, typing, and researching To apply, reply with your resume and a few sentences on why agricultural commodities interests you.
