PurposeBuilt Brands is seeking a Quality Chemist to join their swing shift team in Gurnee, IL.  If you have your bachelor's degree in a science discipline or equivalent experience (2-5 years previous lab experience), are proficient with Microsoft Excel, have out-of-specification experience, and good decision-making skills, PurposeBuilt Brands wants to hear from you! Flexible Swing Shift Schedule: Start times can range from anywhere between 5pm – 7pm, and end between 5am – 7am, based on both business needs and your own scheduling needs. Essential duties/responsibilities: Perform chemical and microbial testing of batches and make adjustments as needed Inspect raw materials including chemicals, packaging components, and labels Assist Quality Technicians and production with finished product inspections Calibrate and maintain lab equipment Troubleshoot lab equipment Inspect and approve FDA product for release Assist in validation of lab equipment (IQ, OQ, PQ) Assist with product validations Maintain quality assurance lab Please note this job description is not designed to cover or contain a comprehensive listing of activities, duties or responsibilities that are required of the employee for this job.
