Apply Now Description As an Industrial Engineer (IE) you will be focusing on designing, improving, and optimizing systems and processes within the Ocean Systems programs primarily to enhance efficiency, productivity, and quality while reducing costs. This can involve designing new systems, implementing improvements into existing systems, or implementing new technologies. IEs work with complex systems involving people, machines, informion, and merials. IEs analyze processes to identify bottlenecks, inefficiencies, and identify areas of improvement. This position will utilize a wide range of knowledge including stistical analyses, operions research, human factors, and logistics. This position will require frequent coordinion with Planning & Production Control, Manufacturing Engineers, and Operions Leads. Primary Responsibilities. • Cree detailed flowcharts or diagrams to visualize the current product flow through multiple stages of production and analyze the flow to identify bottlenecks, delays, and inefficiencies th may hinder production. • Develop stregies to refine processes and improve the workflow, ensuring th merials and products move smoothly from one stage to the next. • Conduct time and motion studies to identify inefficiencies in production processes. • Develop and implement process improvements to enhance productivity and reduce cycle times by using Lean Manufacturing principles (such as yamazumi charts) and Six Sigma methodologies. • Analyze production capacity and develop stregies to improve resource allocion, including both personnel & equipment to ensure th manufacturing capabilities align with customer demand. • Design and improve workstions to improve ergonomics and efficiency • Work with the site quality team to develop and implement quality control measures into standard work. • Use of MES software (Solumina) to implement, track, monitor, and control manufacturing processes, ensuring quality, efficiency, and compliance. • Interpret engineering drawings and specificions to develop manufacturing work instructions in an MES system to clearly define the manufacturing processes for: fabricion, assembly, test, integrion, and refurbishment. • Identify and execute on continuous improvement projects. • Identify and reduce risks in the production processes. • Overseeing & optimizing the production process, from raw merials to finished products, to ensure efficiency and quality. • Collabore with Engineering, Quality Assurance, Operions Leads, and Inventory Control. Basic Qualificions. • A Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering or Industrial and Systems Engineering and 2 – 4 years of prior relevant experience or a Master’s degree in Industrial Engineering or Industrial and Systems Engineering and less than 2 years experience. • Must be capable of performing in a collaborive engineering environment working closely with multi-disciplinary teams. • Experience in assembly manufacturing environments • 2+ years of factory flow and process modeling and simulions experience • 2+ years of experience leading continuous improvement and value stream mapping events • Strong analytic skills and a high degree of proficiency in da mining • Exceptional with Excel, manual da analysis and other da mining tools (Python, R, SQL) • Excellent interpersonal communicion skills • Ability to earn trust and maintain positive professional relionships • Candide must be a US Citizen and possess (and be able to maintain) a Final Secret Clearance OR meet the eligibility to obtain (and maintain) a Secret Clearance.
