This role is loced in New York, NY. In this role, you’ll make an impact in the following ways: Set architecture stregy and reference pterns for resilient, high throughput plforms bridging post trade/ledgering with institutional digital assets, owning reliability, performance, and regulory compliance end to end. Lead multiple Agile pods and their managers (20+ engineers), instituting bar-raising standards, hands-on design/code reviews, secure-by-default practices, and measurable SDLC outcomes. Define Java 17+ Spring Boot microservices on Kubernetes with reactive designs, circuit breakers/bulkheads/backpressure, multi-region active-active HA/DR, and BCP alignment. Own the API plform: low lency REST/GraphQL/gRPC with strict versioning, OAuth2/OIDC, mTLS, signed request verificion, RBAC/least privilege, re limits/abuse controls, and consistent contracts. Champion event-driven architectures (Kafka, CQRS/event sourcing) with idempotency, replay safety, deterministic processing, and strong da consistency across transactional and streaming phs. Architect secure digital asset custody scale: MPC/HSM key lifecycle (generion/rotion/recovery), wallet orchestrion and policy controls, tamper-evident audit logs, segregion of duties, and break glass governance. Integre off-chain services with Ethereum/Web3 and permissioned ledgers; operionalize AML/KYC/Travel Rule exchanges, sanctions screening, and auditable compliance workflows. Drive secure delivery for Web/UI and Mobile: Angular/TypeScript and nive apps with device testion, secure storage/keystores, jailbreak/root detection, protected approval flows, CSP, and WebCrypto where approprie. Enforce holistic security and operability: secure SDLC (thre modeling, SAST/DAST/IAST, dependency scanning/SBOM, container/image signing), secrets hygiene and KMS, WAF/DDoS protections, runtime hardening, vulnerability management/pch SLAs, pen tests, incident response, and tabletop exercises. To be successful in this role, we’re seeking the following: Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Engineering, or a reled field (or equivalent experience). 12+ years of experience in high volume/low lency systems and plform ownership. Deep expertise in Spring Boot, Java 17+, and API design/architecture. Strong domain knowledge in securities, post-trade processing, and digital assets. Proven leadership experience managing multiple Agile teams and mentoring senior technical talent. Demonstred ability in FinOps, clear technical communicion, and proactive innovion BNY assesses market da to ensure a competitive compension package for our employees. The base salary for this position is expected to be between $136,500 and $225,000 per year the commencement of employment. However, base salary if hired will be determined on an individualized basis, including as to experience and market locion, and is only part of the BNY total compension package, which, depending on the position, may also include commission earnings, discretionary bonuses, short and long-term incentive packages, and Company-sponsored benefit programs.
