Position Summary
Arotek Engineering is seeking a skilled CNC Operator with a minimum of 4 years of machining experience and a proven background in horizontal machining centers. The ideal candidate will have strong working knowledge of Fanuc control systems, be capable of running production with precision, and maintain a disciplined approach to quality, safety, and efficiency.
This position plays a vital role in ensuring that production runs meet tight tolerances and scheduling demands while supporting the company’s commitment to accuracy, communication, and continuous improvement.

Primary Responsibilities
• Operate and monitor horizontal CNC machining centers with Fanuc control systems.
• Load and unload parts, verify setup accuracy, and maintain proper tool offsets.
• Perform in-process inspections using micrometers, calipers, and gauge pins.
• Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and job travelers.
• Maintain part quality and dimensional control throughout production runs.
• Follow established work instructions, traveler requirements, and revision control.
• Communicate with Leads and Managers regarding tool wear, process improvements, and potential quality issues.
• Maintain a clean and organized workstation, including machine maintenance and chip management.
• Record production data, part counts, and inspection results accurately.
• Support cross-department workflow by ensuring parts are properly tagged, documented, and moved to the next stage (washing, AQL inspection, or shipping).

Required Qualifications
• 2+ years of CNC machining experience (required).
• Experience operating horizontal machining centers (Matsuura, Kitamura, or similar).
• Fanuc control experience — including tool offset adjustment, MDI operations, and code verification.
• Strong understanding of G-code, work offsets, and tool path verification.
• Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings and inspection reports.
• Proficient in the use of micrometers, calipers, and related precision measurement tools.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Commitment to accuracy, accountability, and safe work practices.

Preferred Qualifications
• Experience with palletized horizontal systems or automated tool changers.
• Knowledge of multi-axis programming fundamentals (3+2 or full 4-axis).
• Familiarity with ERP-based traveler tracking and quality documentation.
• Prior experience in a precision manufacturing environment.

Physical & Work Requirements
• Ability to stand for extended periods.
• Lift or move objects up to 50 lbs. safely.
• Tolerant of shop environment (noise, coolant mist, warm temperatures).
• May be required to assist with loading or unloading pallets as part of workflow.
