Job description:
Litigation Paralegal — Insurance Bad Faith
Law Eagles, PC | Mission Valley, San Diego | Full-Time, In-Person
About Us
Law Eagles is a plaintiffs' insurance bad faith litigation firm representing policyholders in claims against their insurance carriers. We handle property damage, coverage disputes, and claims handling practices cases from pre-litigation through trial. Our team consists of two attorneys, a paralegal, and a law clerk. We're a small firm that punches above its weight — and we're building the tools and processes to keep doing it.
The Role
We need an experienced litigation paralegal who can manage a heavy caseload, draft and review legal documents, and help drive cases forward from initial intake through trial. This role involves substantial discovery work, motion practice support, exhibit and deposition preparation, and deadline management across multiple active cases.
We're also a firm that invests in technology to work smarter. The right candidate will be comfortable learning new platforms and tools, and will have a voice in shaping how the firm's workflows evolve.
Responsibilities
• Manage and organize large, document-intensive caseloads across multiple matters
• Draft, format, edit, and proofread legal documents including motions, discovery, correspondence, and court filings
• Conduct legal research in support of law and motion practice
• Prepare for depositions and trial, including exhibit preparation, indexing, and witness file organization
• Calendar litigation deadlines, hearings, and appointments across state and federal courts
• E-file documents with California Superior Courts and U.S. District Courts
• Manage discovery processes: propounding, responding, tracking, and escalation of outstanding responses
• Leverage firm technology tools and workflows to streamline document management, research, and case preparation
• Assist with development and improvement of internal case management processes and workflows
Qualifications
Required:
• Paralegal certificate from an ABA-approved program, or qualification under California Business & Professions Code § 6450
• 3+ years of civil litigation experience, including pre-trial practice
• Strong writing skills — ability to draft clearly and professionally under attorney supervision
• Knowledge of California and federal rules of civil procedure, evidence, and court rules
• Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Adobe Acrobat
• Ability to manage voluminous files, track deadlines across multiple cases, and prioritize independently
• Comfort learning and adopting new software, tools, and technology platforms quickly
• Discretion in handling confidential and privileged information
Preferred:
• Insurance litigation or bad faith experience
• Bachelor's degree
• Experience with legal technology tools beyond standard office software (case management platforms, e-discovery tools, AI-assisted research or drafting tools, or similar)
• Demonstrated interest in process improvement — you look for better ways to do things, not just the way things have always been done
What We Offer
• Salary: $80,000 – $100,000 per year, commensurate with experience
• 401(k), PTO, 10 paid holidays, and sick days
• Friendly, business casual environment
• Opportunity to grow with a firm that is actively investing in its infrastructure and technology
• Direct collaboration with attorneys on case strategy — this is not a filing-only role
