Focus on real property, business law, civil litigation, and estate planning Job Description: Harland Law Firm LLP, founded in 1946 is a well-established full service civil practice based in Eureka, California that specializes in the areas of real property, business law, civil litigation, and estate planning. We are seeking an Associate Attorney. Qualifications: A candidate must possess at least the following: -Licensed to practice law in California. -1-5 Years experience as an attorney. -Knowledge of California statues and case law, State and Federal Rules of Civil Procedure, court rules and rules of evidence. -Knowledge of ethical and professional standards of conduct. -Excellent research and writing as well as oral argument skills. -Ability to formulate, prepare and file motions, briefs and other legal documents. -Strong computer literacy and proficiency with Microsoft applications including Word, Excel and Outlook. -Ability to communicate clearly and effectively, orally and in writing. -Ability to take initiative and to manage and maintain successful relationships with clients, other professionals, colleagues and support staff. -Strong work ethic with attention to detail. Opportunity. This is a five partner, two associate, rural practice that works collaboratively. All current partners began as firm associates.
