Involves working outdoors and applying precise treatments We are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Plant Health Care (PHC) Technician to join our arboriculture team. The PHC Technician plays a vital role in maintaining the health and vitality of trees and shrubs through monitoring, diagnosis, and precise application of treatments. This position is ideal for someone who enjoys working outdoors, values accuracy and safety, and is interested in growing their skills in plant health care. Plant Health Monitoring & Diagnosis • Inspect trees, shrubs, and ornamental plants for insects, mites, diseases, nutrient deficiencies, and environmental stress • Identify plant species and assess overall plant health • Document observations and communicate concerns to supervisors or arborists Treatment Preparation & Application • Accurately measure, calculate, and mix nutrients, fertilizers, fungicides, miticides, and insecticides • Calculate proper mixing ratios and application rates based on product labels, plant size, DBH, soil area, and equipment output • Apply treatments using soil drenches, trunk injections, foliar sprays, and trunk sprays • Follow Integrated Pest Management (IPM) practices and company procedures Safety & Best Practices • Follow all company safety protocols and wear required PPE • Safely handle, mix, transport, and apply treatment materials • Follow all label directions and company guidelines • Report spills, exposure incidents, or safety concerns immediately Equipment & Vehicle Care • Calibrate, clean, and maintain spray and injection equipment • Maintain tools, tanks, hoses, and measuring devices in good working order • Safely operate company vehicles as required during work hours • Perform routine inspections related to assigned equipment Customer Communication • Communicate professionally with clients while on job sites • Answer basic questions related to plant health and treatments • Provide general recommendations for watering, mulching, and plant care as directed Documentation & Reporting • Complete service reports accurately and on time • Record products used, application rates, quantities, and site conditions • Maintain organized and legible treatment records
