Summary: Oversee packing and operational mechanical crews, plan and implement special projects, and manage departmental budgets while supervising staff and designing systems. Highlights: 1. Develop and maintain annual departmental budget Number of openings: 1 Fulltime, Year Round Hours & Days: 3:30 pm – 12:00 am, Monday – Friday; shift hours may vary depending on production. Location: Olds - Wenatchee This position will require a pre-employment drug test. External applicants may apply online at www.stemilt.com Current Stemilt employees if interested may apply in the Human Resource Department Qualifications: • Knowledge of packing lines, waxing and cleaning fruit, hydraulics, basic electrical and air systems • Knowledge of fabrication, design, and development of specialized equipment • Mechanical ability to include welding and power tool use in accordance with safety guidelines • Ability to read and understand technical manuals and blueprints • Ability to troubleshoot, schedule projects, and prioritize based on needs assessment • Good computer and math skills • Flexibility of work schedule • Ability to communicate and work well with other employees, external contractors and vendors • Functional experience in welding, auto cad, design, and fabrication • Understanding of personnel supervision to include procedures for hiring, discipline and termination, maintaining employee records • Stemilt certified forklift driver, or ability to become certified. • Valid Washington State driver's license with a good driving record • Must be able to push/pull or carry up to 100 pounds. • Bilingual (Spanish/English) a plus but not required • Knowledge in PLC and line control. • Previous supervisor experience preferred. Responsibilities of the position including but not limited to the following: • Oversee all packing and operational mechanical crews • Plan, develop, implement, and supervise special projects • Work with and assist outside contractors and vendors • Review and assess quotations from vendors based on budget requirements and needs assessment • Work with Operations Manager on daily basis, providing requested information in a timely manner • Develop and maintain annual departmental budget • Plan and design packing and operational systems • Prepare and present weekly report for production meetings • Supervise staff in various locations according to Stemilt Growers policy and practices • Follow safety rules pertaining to job tasks • Other duties may be assigned.
