Learn from experienced technicians and attend training The HVAC Apprentice assists experienced HVAC technicians with the installation, maintenance, and repair of heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems. This entry-level role is designed to provide hands-on training while developing the skills necessary to become a licensed HVAC technician. Key Responsibilities Assist technicians with installing HVAC systems including furnaces, air conditioners, heat pumps, and ductwork Help troubleshoot and repair heating and cooling equipment Perform basic maintenance such as filter replacements, cleaning coils, and checking system performance Carry tools, materials, and equipment to job sites Maintain a clean and organized work area Follow safety policies and OSHA guidelines Learn to read blueprints, wiring diagrams, and installation manuals Communicate professionally with customers when on job sites Attend training sessions or apprenticeship classes as required Required Qualifications High school diploma or GED Strong mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn Ability to use basic hand and power tools Ability to lift 50+ pounds and work in confined spaces or on ladders Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation Ability to work in outdoor environments and varying temperatures Preferred Qualifications Enrollment in or completion of an HVAC training program EPA Section 608 certification (or willingness to obtain) Basic knowledge of electrical systems or HVAC components Skills & Attributes Strong work ethic and dependability Good communication and teamwork skills Problem-solving ability Attention to detail Willingness to learn from experienced technicians Physical Requirements Ability to lift heavy equipment and tools Ability to stand, kneel, bend, and climb for extended periods Comfortable working in attics, crawlspaces, and rooftops
